TREGO COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -- A 17-year-old and 12-year-old from Kansas were killed when the car they were in went out of control on I-70. The accident happened Monday afternoon in Trego County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by John Smith, 17, of Ottawa, was eastbound when he lost control and entered the westbound lanes. Smith's car struck a semi and another car.
Smith was killed in the crash, as was one of his passengers, 12-year-old Alexis Woolsoncroft of Ottawa.
Another passenger in Smith's car and the two other drivers are hospitalized.
