TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A rival competition has KU and K-State pitted against each other. It's all part of the "Take Charge" challenge.
The statewide energy efficiency competition is split up into four regions.
The more homeowners who schedule energy audits, the more points Manhattan and K-State or Lawrence and KU will earn toward winning the title.
K-State's President Kirk Schulz and his wife took the lead with their home as it underwent the energy audit Tuesday.
The next step in the challenge is an energy saving competition between the residence halls at K-State and KU. That's set for the week of spring break.
