Suspect Uses Baseball Bat In Home Invasion, Robbery

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A person accused of attacking a Topeka resident with a baseball bat Thursday morning was being questioned by detectives.

Police say that around 12:52 a.m., someone forced their way into an apartment at 624 SW Taylor and used the bat to attack the person living there. They say the suspect took property and then ran.

Officers were able to use the suspect description to locate people they believed to be involved, at 635 SW Harrison. The bat and stolen property was found there. It's not clear how many people were involved in the crime.
