Suspect Sought After Attempted Robbery At Topeka K-Mart

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Police are searching for the man who tried to rob a north Topeka department store Tuesday evening.

According to the Topeka Police Dept., the suspect went into the Kmart North store, 2240 NW Tyler St., shortly before 9:00 p.m. and demanded money from a cashier. He, then, left in a black extended cab Chevrolet pickup truck.

The suspect was reportedly carrying a handgun.

Police did not release any other information at this time and said they are still investigating the incident.
