Sunday Bake Sale To Help Pay For Boy's Medical Bills After Accident

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__Family members hope to curb medical costs for a 12 year old struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle.

Relatives of Nicholas Tunstall are holding a bake sale Sunday August 18th, from 10 am to 3 pm in the Wal-Mart parking lot along 1501 SW Wanamaker road.

All proceeds will go towards helping Nicholas' mom Sherry pay for medical bills from the care needed for her son's recovery.

There is also an account fund set up in Nicholas Tunstall's name at all Capital Federal locations.

On August 2nd, Nicholas was hit by a pickup truck along Southwest Topeka Boulevard and Southwest Saint John.

The accident broke Nicholas's left and right collar bones, left and right pelvic bones, and shattered the growth plates in his right ankle.

The driver arrested at the scene,36 year old Charles Dwayne Cashman, had no car insurance, no license and illegal tags.

Sherry Tunstall, a single mother of four, has been unable to work since the accident while taking care of Nicholas.
