TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Washburn University students shook their "superbods" Saturday morning all up and down the streets of Topeka.

The Homecoming parade kicked off at 10 a.m. at the Washburn campus. Students designed floats and dressed up for the theme: "Superbods: A Hero's Homecoming."

They donned capes, tights and masks to be their own Ichabod hero.

Because 17th Street is closed for construction, the parade route first turned south on Washburn, turning west on 21st Street, then looping back around onto campus.

Saturday is the last day of Homecoming festivities. After the parade, students spent the rest of the morning tailgating, preparing for the football match-up against the Lindenwood University Lions at 1 p.m.
