Student In Murder For Hire Plot Has Court Date Thursday

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Still no word yet on whether the 17 year-old student accused in a murder for hire plot earlier this month will be tried as an juvenile or adult.

DA Taylor previously has said he plans to prosecute Moore as an adult.

Brendan Steven Moore was due to appear in court on Thursday where a scheduling hearing was set for February 6th.

He is accused of plans to murder four people at Topeka West High School.

13 News is choosing not to report the names of the individuals targeted. One of the targeted law enforcement officers involved works for USD 501. The other is a member of the Topeka Police Department assigned to the high school.
