TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A student at a Topeka school was arrested for assaulting a classroom paraprofessional on Wednesday.
According to jail records, the 18 year-old was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery, intentional great bodily harm, and disorderly conduct.
USD 501 Police Chief Ron Brown told 13 News officers were called to Capital City school Wednesday morning. He said the student shoved the para against a wall, injuring her ribs and shoulder.
The victim, who is in her 60's, was kept in the hospital for observation.
Capital City is the district's school for students who suffer from behavioral or emotional issues.
