State Officials Roll Up Sleeves To Prep For Flu Season

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two state officials rolled up their sleeves to encourage Kansans to prepare for flu season.

Secretary of Health and Environment Robert Moser and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer led by example by receiving their influenza vaccinations during a news conference at the Statehouse.

The pair also talked about the upcoming flu season. Moser predicted it would be a rather mild flu season, however, he still encouraged everyone older than six months of age to get their influenza vaccination. It not only lessens a person's risk, it also can reduce the spread of the virus.

People may contact their doctor or local health department about how to get a flu shot.
