TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - With the Kansas Legislature's upcoming special session, the State Library of Kansas reminds people its librarians and researchers staff a hotline to answer questions about legislative workings.
Callers can ask research librarians about legislation, legislative procedure, state government and other topics. Residents also will be able to request copies of bills, voting records and other documents.
To reach the librarians, call 1-800-432-3924 from 8 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. People can also test questions to 785-256-0733 with standard text messaging rates applying, or ask online at www.kslib.info/ask-a-librarian.
The State Library of Kansas is located in the north wing on the third floor of the State Capitol building. The special session starts Sept. 3. It's main focus is fixing the state's law for imposing the Hard 50 sentence for certain murders. The Senate also will consider confirming the Governor's nominee for the Kansas Court of Appeals.
