Starbucks CEO Ask Customers To Leave Guns At Home

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A prominent coffee chain tells its customers that guns are no longer welcome in its cafes.

In an open letter to its customers Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks Coffee Company says the company does not want guns inside its businesses.

Schultz did stop short of an outright ban of firearms. Instead, in comments Wednesday, he made what he called a respectful request that customers no longer bring firearms into the stores or their outside eating area.

In 2005 law makers enacted a law allowing the carrying of concealed weapons in the state of Kansas.

Governor Sam Brownback signed a new law that opened up more buildings to conceal ad carry gun permit owners.
