St. Francis Employees Break Fundraising Record

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - St. Francis employees are breaking records in helping others!

The emergency department staff was honored Wednesday as top givers in the hospital's annual campaign for the St. Francis Health Center Foundation. They were treated to an ice cream sundae bar for their efforts.

In all, St. Francis associates pledged more than $268,000 -- that's a 41% increase over last year's campaign!

Plus, for the first time in the hospital's history, more than 60% of associates made pledges.

"I think it speaks volumes to our culture here at St. Francis and the generosity of our associates," said Marshall Meek, Executive Director of the St. Francis Health Center Foundation. "We show them exactly where the dollars go and they really respond. They love making an impact on the lives of their coworkers and our patients."

The money will support programs such as prescription assistance and professional education.
