Sister Act | Women Decide To Retire On Same Day

By  |

A lot of sisters are close, but one pair take it to another level.

Sherry Reeves and Debbie Belveal were guests of honor Friday at their joint retirement reception.

They started working at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka within three weeks of each other back in 1989. Debbie began in various administrative secretary roles and finished as the Telecommunications Manager, a position she held since 2003. Sherry has held various human resources positions over the years and ended her career as the Compensation/Benefits/Payroll/Records representative.

The sisters say they have always done everything together. Their families even live as neighbors in a duplex on 10 acres of land. It only seemed fitting, they say, that they would choose to retire on the same day as well.

The ladies plan to spend time with their grandchildren. They also suspect they'll return to Stormont together again to volunteer.
