Silverbackks Plan To Smash Hunger With New Program

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A Topeka non-profit is starting a new program to smash out hunger in the community.

SilverTEENS is a part of the Silverbackks non- profit volunteer group and will have a new summer dinning program at the Hillcrest Community Center. The program 'Smash Plates' has a mission to smash out hunger one plate at a time.

It will be free to children in that community. The program beings May 27 and will run for eleven weeks thought August 8.

Nearly 166 volunteer positions are already filled.
