TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- We all know the cold doesn't stop in the morning and afternoon hours and one organization has pulled its resources together to help individuals find a warm place to stay.
In very short notice, members of the Silverbackks organization opened up a warming center at 408 SW Jackson.
The Silverbackks is a local organization that fills in behind other agencies here in Topeka to meet the needs of its neighbors.
People coming to the center Wednesday received a warm meal and clothes to help fight off the freezing temperatures.
Silverbackk organizers say their pleased how the community has stepped up in such little time.
The warming center closes at 9:00 am.
