LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- 13 News has learned the Lawrence man who was the subject of a Silver Alert Tuesday has died, though Lawrence police have declined to comment on his condition.

Lawrence Police issued the alert for 65-year-old George Sundstrom late Tuesday afternoon. They said family members had not seen him since last Thursday and were concerned because he needed daily medication.

Around 10:30 pm Tuesday, Lawrence Police issued a news release that Sundstrom had been located in his vehicle. However, they did not include any further detail.

13 News asked Lawrence Police for an update on Sundstom's condition Wednesday morning. LPD public information officer Sgt. Trent McKinley would not say if Sundstrom was found deceased, only that, "unfortunately we did not have the outcome we were hoping for. Due to privacy laws, I cannot elaborate."

He did say foul play is not suspected.

13 News has filed an open records request with Lawrence Police to release further information.

Meantime, 13 News contacted Frontier Forensics in Kansas City, which handles coroner duties for Douglas County. Their office confirms it has received Sundstrom's body for an autopsy.
