Shawnee County Parks And Rec Associates Receive Top Honors

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Those associated with Shawnee County Parks and Rec earn honors.

The National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials presented Ted Ensley with a Professional Lifetime Award.

Ensley served as the Director of Shawnee County Parks and Rec for more than 31 years before retiring in 1992. Then serving as a county commissioner.

The Kansas Senior Olympics was presented the Park and Recreation Program Award, for its commitment to the physical and social wellness for senior adults.

And Old Prairie Town was awarded the Historical and Cultural Facility Award for its commitment to preserving the family history of the earliest settlers in the Shawnee County area.
