A severe t-storm watch is in effect until 11am for southern portions of the viewing area but everyone will get rain this morning. Heavy rain that could lead to flooding is the main threat with the storms that will become more isolated this afternoon.
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Roof replacement repair work at the Kansas Expocentre was one of the topics today at the Shawnee County Commissioners meeting.
Director of Parks and Recreation John Knight presented a proposal by J-B Turner and Sons Roofing and Sheet Metal to do repair work on the Kansas Expocentre.
The expenditures will cover $498,000 of the work and insurance revenue will cover all but the county's $10,000 deductible.
The repair work was approved 3-0.
Commissioners also unanimously approved the appointment of Edward O'Rear as Deputy Director of Community Corrections for Shawnee County.
O'Rear has filled the position on an interim basis since June 15th.
