(WIBW) - World travelers take note: the Shawnee County Health Agency is out of Typhoid vaccine.
The vaccine is recommended for those who plan a trip to parts of the world where typhoid is common. People who are in close contact with a typhoid carrier and lab workers who work with Salmonella Typhi bacteria also should get it.
The Shawnee County Health Agency says it doesn't expect to receive any new shipments of the vaccine until September. Those who need it in the meantime should contact a local pharmacy to check for availability.
Travelers are instructed to get the vaccine at least two weeks before trip.
