TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Authorities say speed likely caused a semi to roll over in South Topeka Friday.

Emergency responders were called to a semi truck rollover near I-470 and Burlingame Rd. around 12:30 p.m.

The driver of the rig was traveling eastbound on 42nd and turned north onto Southgate Rd. Police say the truck was moving fast, and tipped onto its side as it turned.

The driver was being treated Friday for minor injuries. Crews said he may have hurt his shoulder.

Portions of Southgate Road were being shutdown Friday as crews worked to tow the overturned semi.
