Search Goes On For Two Escaped Inmates

OTTAWA COUNTY, Kansas -- Two jail inmates are back in custody, while two remain at large following a daring jail escape from the Ottawa County Jail at 5:00am Wednesday.

Kansas Department of Corrections reports the four who broke out are state prisoners the DOC was holding in the county lockup in Minneapolis, Kansas.

One escapee was caught soon after the breakout. 21-year old Drew Edward Wade was also captured late Wednesday. He was located and brought back into custody at North Platte, Nebraska about 5:30 last evening.

Authorities this morning are still tracking down 22-year old Santos Cabrera. He's 5'9" with a shaved head and a goatee. 22-year old Eric James is also still on the run today. (His picture is on this story as well.)

The Highway Patrol is looking for a brown or gold 2002 model Nissan Altima bearing a Kansas license plate 649 CIC, along with a 2005 Chevy Venture with Kansas tag 854 DZQ. Anyone seeing the cars or the drivers should call 911 immediately.

Schools in Minneapolis School District 239 were shut down Wednesday to protect students. Administrators say all school activities are cancelled until law enforcement gives Ottawa County the all-clear.
