A Seaman High School senior and her father died in a wreck Friday on their way back from enrolling her in college.
The Kansas HIghway Patrol crash log shows the wreck happened at 4 pm Friday on K-18 east of Bennington in Ottawa County.
The KHP report states a westbound Chevy Silvarado moved into the eastbound lane to avoid a vehicle that was parked along the road, partially in traffic. The pickup collided head-on with an oncoming Plymouth Neon.
18-year-old Emma Jo Pisocki of Topeka was driving the Neon. She and her 41-year-old father Jason were killed.
A battalion chief confirms that Jason was a volunteer firefighter for Solider Township. He and Emma were on their way home from enrolling her at Hutchinson Community College.
The pickup's driver, 35-year-old Jason Jeardoe of Bennington, was taken to Salina Regional Hospital with potentially serious injuries.
This is the second fatality this year involving a Seaman High School student. 15-year-old sophomore Alayna Hutchinson was killed in a February wreck in the 5300 block of NW Rochester Rd.
