A local high school recognized the academic success of its students and honored the achievements of a past alumna.

over 700 students were recognized for their academic success with an assembly at the Seaman High School auditorium.

SHARP was founded a decade ago to motivate all Seaman Vikings to strive for academic excellence.

One of those success stories came back to her old stomping grounds with some words of wisdom.

"I think it's just so encouraging to not just limit yourself, but think long term about the things you can do, but just continue to dream about the things you wish you could do," Kristin Moore, Seaman Alumna.

Moore is a second year law student at the University of the District of Columbia. She also founded a food program for the underprivileged in South Africa.
