TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The wife of convicted killer Roger Hollister, found out he had died in prison, moments before her own court hearing.

Craig Miller from the Hiawatha World tells us Rebecca Hollister was pulled aside by her attorney, told something, and then began to cry.

She did not re-enter the courtroom. Moments later, Judge Elizabeth Deiter announced in court that Roger Hollister had died at El Dorado State Prison. Corrections officials say it was natural causes.

He was serving a life term for capital murder in the 2009 death of Patricia Kimmi. Rebecca Hollister was arrested last week and charged with aiding a felon.

Judge Deiter released her yesterday on her own recognizance. She'll be back in court April 22nd for a preliminary hearing.

The Hiawatha World reports the investigation into Kimmi's murder is ongoing and officials are working toward charging a third person in connection with the crime.
