EL DORADO, Kan. (WIBW) - Convicted killer Roger Hollister died shortly after noon Wednesday at the El Dorado Correctional Facility.

The Kansas Department of Corrections told 13 News Hollister died of natural causes. No other details of his death were released.

He was convicted in March 2011 of capital murder for the 2009 death of Patricia Kimmi. He was serving a life sentence.

His wife, Rebecca Hollister, was arrested at her home in Topeka on March 12 on charges of aiding a felon.

Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert alleges that Rebecca Hollister aided her husband with the intent that he avoid arrest, trial, conviction or punishment for the commission of a felony in the death of Kimmi.

Hollister was also charged with aggravated battery after he attempted to kill his wife in a car accident on Highway 75 in 2010. Kansas Highway Patrol says Hollister deliberately veered across the center line and collided with an oncoming semi.
