TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 24, the left lanes on U.S. 24 will be closed for crossover construction work on the median. The lanes going east and westbound will both be affected. The road closed will be between U.S. 75 west and Menoken Road.

Traffic will be directed through the work zone by cones and signs. The speed limit will be posted as 50 mph through the entirety of the work zone.

Menoken Road will also be closed at the same time, expected to open back up around the same time as well. The entire road between U.S. 24 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks will be closed for paving and entrance operation work.

There will be no marked detour, but drivers can take U.S. 75 south to westbound Lower Silver Lake Road back to Menoken Road.

Both work zones will be closed 24/7.
