MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Little Apple has some big things going on over the next few days for the Riley County Fair.
The Riley County Fair Parade kicked off festivities Thursday evening with a march through Downtown Manhattan.
Residents filled the sidewalks along Poyntz Avenue as local businesses, organizations, and politicians took the streets, accompanied by a variety of floats from area 4-H groups.
"Our club has divided up responsibilities and we have kids that are chairs of the committee, and then we have adult advisors to each committee," said Strong Satellites Club Leader Cherie Trieb. "We have a lot of new members and the kids had a great time putting this all together."
Activities continued throughout the night at Cico Park with a pedal tractor pull, rodeo and carnival.
