TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Local bank employees made a healthy deposit in the fight against cancer.
Capitol Federal presented the American Cancer Society with a check for more than $11,000 Tuesday morning. The funds are from the bank's 2014 Relay for Life campaign. The effort included 40 employees, family and friends who participated in the May 30th walk at Hayden High School.
"The Topeka community has always been very generous and supportive of our cause," said Stephanie Weiter of the American Cancer Society. "Capitol Federal has done an outstanding job for us once again."
Linda Hawes and Crystal Perez were the co-chairs for Capitol Federal's Relay for Life team. They were the third-top fundraiser's in this year's event.
