Red Cross Asks For Help, Donations In Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The need for blood is on the rise as officials prepare for Hurricane Sandy.

The hurricane has forced the cancellation of about 100 blood drives in 11 states along the East Coast.

The Red Cross is asking for Kansans to donate blood or platelets to help those that will be impacted by the hurricane.

Multiple blood drives are scheduled in the Kansas Capital Area. Below are a list of times and locations to donate:

Emporia High

Kansas Neurological Institute, Topeka
Wednesday, Nov. 7th

Clay Center Blood Drive, Catholic Parish Center
Friday, Nov. 9
9:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
