President Obama Cancels KU Trip

UPDATE: The President will not be visiting Kansas Friday, it was announced Tuesday. He is scheduled to speak in Boston Thursday.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - President Barack Obama will be in Kansas later this week.

The White House has confirmed that Obama is planning an official event Friday at the University of Kansas.

Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little said the University is delighted to welcome the President, and thankful for the opportunity to discuss educating leaders, building healthy communities, and making discoveries that change the world.

It's not yet known whether the event will be open to the public.
