Preliminary Hearing Set For Suspect In Shrine Bowl Player's Stabbing

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A preliminary hearing is set for one of three men accused in the stabbing of a Shrine Bowl football player in July.

Martin Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court September 18th. He's charged with one count each of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated assault in the July 27th incident outside the Hudson Crossing convenience store in Topeka.

Police say Rodriguez and Daniel Washquahboshkuk attacked 18-year-old Brett Sterbach of Shawnee. George Martinez is charged with driving their getaway vehicle.

Washquahboshkuk has a preliminary hearing September 26th. Martinez is due in court in October.
