Saturday’s estimated Powerball jackpot climbed to $325 million after no player claimed the grand prize in Wednesday night's drawing.
Tonight's drawing marks the largest cash jackpot ever—$202.9 million. The jackpot is the third-largest Powerball jackpot ever and the fastest-accruing amount since the game increased its ticket price from $1 to $2 January 15. Should someone win this weekend, they can choose to receive a $325 million annuity or opt to receive $202.9 million in cash before taxes.
It’s been since December of last year that a player matched all six Powerball numbers in Pennsylvania and collected the $128 million jackpot. The largest Powerball jackpots ever were: $365 million, hit in Nebraska in 2006; $340 million, hit in Oregon in 2005; and $314.3 million, hit in Indiana in 2007.
Powerball is played in 42 States, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
