WAMEGO, Kan. (WIBW) - Pottawatomie County is celebrating their success.
They hosted a get-together Tuesday evening for those who have invested in the county's economic development plan.
Their goal is to raise $1 million to put towards projects like work-force development. They've already raised more than $829,00 -- something county officials are very pleased with.
"To get this together and have as many people involved as we have, has been just remarkable," said Jeannie Johnson, President of the Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation board. "There's so many people out there that believe in our county, believe in the possibilities, the future of our county, not only for business but for places for people to live and work, get an education, raise their families."
Johnson says the economic development plan is about three years in the making.
