(WIBW) - A burglary suspect who sparked a search in the town of Saint George earlier this week is behind bars.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office issued a release Friday, saying deputies arrested 29-year-old Christopher Webber of Manhattan Thursday.
He's accused in four residential burglaries and two car breakins dating back to September 29th. The incidents all happened east of Manhattan and north of Highway 24.
Authorities say their break in the case came when Webber approached a fifth residence while the homeowner was home. They say the homeowner got his vehicle and tag information and passed it along to authorities.
A deputy spotted the suspect vehicle Tuesday in the St. George area. By the time the deputy turned around and caught up with the vehicle, the occupants had left it in a mobile home court parking lot and fled. A search for the occupants was unsuccessful at that time, but the vehicle was seized and searched for evidence.
Authorities say search warrants were executed for residence and vehicles in Riley and Pottawatomie counties. A portion of the stolen property was recovered through the warrants.
Webber is being held on $100,000 bond for charges including aggravated burglary, burglary and theft.
