SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -- Salina Police are investigating after a woman who was found beaten said she had been held against her will for days.

On Thursday, August 14, police were dispatched to an area near Harold and Haskett for a medical emergency. When officers arrived, they found a woman walking northbound with bruising on her body, face and head.

Other bruises and cuts in various stages of healing were found all over her body.

She told officers she had been punched in the face and head earlier that day. She also said she had been held against her will at a home in the 700 block of North Front Street since August 9, where she had repeatedly been beaten by a male acquaintance.

She was taken to a Salina hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for the man, but not releasing his name.
