TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Officials nabbed a robber in the van he stole from a Topeka organization early Friday morning.
Capitol Police say 27-year-old Kyle Perkis of Topeka broke into the Kansas Corporation Commission on 1500 Southwest Arrowhead. The building's alarm sounded around 4 a.m., alerting Topeka Police.
An officer responding spotted a state van near the scene and stopped it. Perkis was inside, attempting to steal the van, as well as keys and other personal items from the building.
Capitol Police say all stolen items have been recovered.
Public Affairs Director for the KCC Jesse Borjon said officials will look over the inventory and make sure everything is accounted for.
Perkis is now in the Shawnee County Jail.
