TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Police closed 6th Avenue from Topeka Boulevard to SW Tyler Street while they investigated a suspicious package Thursday morning.
Topeka Police spokesperson Kristen Veverka said at about 8:35 a.m. Thursday (11/1) that eastbound and westbound traffic lanes were closed and no detour was being provided.
At 9:15 a.m., Veverka said the package was removed and was not a threat. The area was reopened.
