TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka police are treating reports of an afternoon stabbing in central Topeka as self-defense.
They were called to a home in the 1700 block of SW Fillmore around 3:45 p.m. where two men were arguing.
Police say one man started beating the other with a toy and the man being hit pulled out a knife and threw it. Police say he suffered a potentially life-threatening cut to arm.
They interviewed the man with the knife and witnesses, but did not arrest anyone. They added that they planned on sending their reports to the district attorney who could decide to press charges.
They also said that tires were reportedly slashed in the area, but could not confirm the man with the knife was behind it.
