Victim, Suspect Shot During Home Invasion

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka detectives are investigating a home invasion and shooting that landed a Topeka man in the hospital.

Officers were dispatched at 11 p.m. Tuesday to 3120 SW Twilight Court, Apartment 112. When they arrived, they found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds that were considered life threatening. He was identified Wednesday as Anothony Mioni.

Mioni was being treated at a local hospital for his injuries.

An investigation took officers to 205 SE 25th to speak with individuals who had possible involvement in the shooting. Ultimately, two men were taken into custody; one after fleeing the area on foot, police say. He was found nearby with the assistance of KHP’s helicopter.

The arrested individuals were identified as Devantier Jackson, 21, and Daquhan Jackson, 18. Both are charged with aggravated robbery and burglary.

One of the suspects was being treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound that he suffered before involvement with police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detectives at 368-9400, or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
