The Topeka Police Department is looking for new recruits and Saturday they held a physical ability and written examination for those who think they have what it takes.

After completing the written exam, participants ran 440 yards, which is a completion of 6 laps in a figure 8.

They perform squat thrusts over a three foot vault, push and pull 80 pounds resistance and lift an 80-pound bag for 50 feet.

Participants have to finish this course in under 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

After the physical test, participants must also go through several interviews, a polygraph exam and a background check.
