WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — No one was hurt when a small plane made an emergency landing in a northwest Wichita field early Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 12:30 p.m., officers noticed a small plane quickly descending and called it in. The plane landed in a field north of K-96 near Hoover Road, just west of Brooks Landfill.
The pilot of the Mooney single engine plane told police the plane had a mechanical problem and the field looked like a good landing spot. The pilot was the only person on board, and he was not hurt.
