Petition Aims To Have WBC Declared A "Hate Group"
(WIBW) Groups are trying to petition the White House to legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.
It has more than 296,000 signatures since it was created December 14th. The White House promises to respond to any petitions that have more than 25,000 signatures.
They have yet to respond to this one.
One challenge, however, is that there is no such thing in federal law as a "hate group."
