He was crossing right in front of Via's Pizzeria near 8th Street and Gage Blvd. shortly after 3:30 p.m. The teen tried crossing about 10-15 feet outside of the crosswalk.
Police said he may have suffered a head injury.
The driver of the Mercedes said she tried to stop but couldn't. Three kids were in the car with her. No one in the car were hurt.
The incident shut down both northbound lanes of Gage Blvd. and one southbound lane for much of the afternoon.
