Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car.

The person was hit in the 5900 block of Anderson Ave. near West 60th Street in Manhattan around 6:55 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, the Riley County Police Department learned that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and was found deceased.

RCPD had closed Anderson Avenue from 69th to Scenic Drive while they were doing an on-scene investigation. That area was closed for about four hours.

The accident is still under investigation. Troopers from the Kansas Highway Patrol's accident reconstruction team were called in to assist RCPD.
