TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Payless ShoeSource announced Tuesday that 45 current employee positions in Topeka would be eliminated.
The company also announced that 97 open positions around the globe would not be filled.
From Payless ShowSource
Today Payless ShoeSource conducted a business restructuring to better align and focus the organization and its resources since the close of the sale of Collective Brands in October. Through that transaction we sold off the Performance + Lifestyle Group -- about a $1 billion unit with primarily wholesale brands -- and we transitioned from a public to a private company that is focused on Payless ShoeSource. The PLG unit was supported by the corporate team in Topeka and by staff in our various global functions. As such, 97 open positions have been eliminated throughout our global organization, as well as about 45 occupied positions here at our Topeka headquarters. Severance and outplacement services are being provided to the displaced associates.
