Password No Longer Most Popular Password

(WIBW) -- There's a new "worst password" now, at least according to a new list by SplashData, Inc. The password specialists say that for the first time since they've been compiling their list of most common passwords, the word "password" didn't top the list.

The company released its 2013 list over the weekend. This year's compilation highlighted the effects of a well-publicized security breach at Adobe, with passwords related to the company popping up on the list.

"Seeing passwords like 'adobe123' and 'photoshop' on this list offers a good reminder not to base your password on the name of the website or application you are accessing," says Morgan Slain, CEO of SplashData.

"Another interesting aspect of this year's list is that more short numerical passwords showed up even though websites are starting to enforce stronger password policies," Slain said. For example, new to this year's list are simple and easily guessable passwords like "1234" at #16, "12345" at #20, and "000000" at #25.

This year's number most common password: "123456" which only reminded us of one thing:
