MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say several thousand dollars is missing from a fundraiser at a Manhattan elementary school.

On November 26, 2012, the RCPD was notified by a board member of the Parent-Teacher Organization at Amanda Arnold Elementary School that a packet containing $3,000 can not be located.

Police were told that cash and checks from a charity program are gone.

An information report has been filed with the RCPD since officials say they have not yet established that criminal activity is to blame in the case. The matter remains under investigation.
