FRANKLIN CO., Kan. (WIBW) - Update July 30, 2012: The victim in the head-on collision near Ottawa Saturday has been identified as Terri Lynn Noble. Lt. Curtis Hall with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office says alcohol may have played a role in the accident, but the office is awaiting results and the investigation is ongoing.

A woman is being treated at the University of Kansas Medical Center after a head-on collision in Franklin County.
Lt. Curtis Hall with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the 34-year-old woman from Ottawa crashed into a semi tractor trailer on I-35 near Ottawa. She suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to the hospital, he said.
The collision happened 12 minutes after midnight Saturday morning. The woman was travelling north in a southbound lane, Hall said. The man driving the semi is said to be okay.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash and did not release the woman's name.
