OSAGE COUNTY, Kansas (WIBW) -- As mail thefts have risen in Shawnee County, it is becoming the same problem in Osage County.
The Osage County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to be alert about what they're putting in their mailboxes. If anyone has been a victim of mail theft and haven't reported it, do so immediately.
When the red flag on mailboxes is raised, it alerts criminals and thieves that there may be cash or checks inside. Instead, drop off important mail at a secured post office or drop box.
A current investigation has cleared several recent mail thefts. If your mail has been stolen, call the Osage County Sheriff's Office immediately at 785-828-3121.
