Organizations Need Volunteer Help Today

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Even in the cold, volunteers are still encouraged to find time Saturday to get out and do good deeds for others.

Topeka organizations have indicated they need some volunteer help Saturday morning on January 4th for The OneEvent. Group leaders are responsible for arranging their own service projects, transportation, etc.

The following organizations need volunteers:

YWCA - Organizing a food pantry and other miscellaneous jobs

United Way - Miscellaneous jobs, not sure how many needed

Prairie Land Foods - Collecting food and passing out information door-to-door

Topeka Rescue Mission - Taking down, organizing, putting away Christmas decorations
3 different sites available

Up to 20 volunteers, need at least one adult for every 5 students

Habitat For Humanity - Opportunities at ReStore or at construction site
